How to Find the Best Vegan Clothing Online

Who else wants to find the best vegan online stores and get sustainable, ethical and cruelty-free clothing?

I am literally amazed by the vegan clothing stores that have been born over the last 3-4 years. The world has become a better place for everyone, but let’s admit it: it’s way better for us vegan fashionistas.

What if there weren’t vegan clothing stores for us to replenish our wardrobes? What if our only option was to shop at hideous high street shops and cover ourselves in polyester?

Thank God we don’t have to compromise on quality for compassion anymore. We also don’t have to peruse the internet for days and nights in order to find our vegan fashion fix. There are shops that do this for us. And of course, there are blogs that do this for you (hey, not tooting my own horn at all here!)

Vegan Clothing online: Grape Cat

Vegan Online Store for Grape Cats

I currently count 9 big vegan online boutiques in the US only and I’m planning on writing dedicated posts for each one of them to help you choose the best feel-good vegan shopping experience (or possibly shop from them all, one at a time!)

Grape Cat is one of those heavenly places where you don’t have to worry about what you’re buying because everything is 100% cruelty-free, ethical and sustainable.
One thing, I’ll never ever do again… wasting my precious time on the “regular” online boutiques trying to understand if a product is vegan, what materials is it made of and where it was manufactured.

100% Organic Cotton T-shirt: Life is the flower for which love is the honey

Grape Cat’s owners James and Christine turned vegan in 2008 and opened their store in 2013: they made a conscious and compassionate choice. This is where the most passionate activists usually start, and this is also where the message about compassion really grows wings and reaches a whole lot of people.
This is what Grape Cat is mostly about: quenching your vegan fashion needs with everything from bags to shoes, from t-shirts to coats, for men, women and kids. But it’s not only that.

Veganism, Sustainability and Giving Back

When giving back comes in so many forms within the same company, it’s a beautiful event. As far as I can see, a lot of vegan companies have many causes to their heart, not just the animals’ welfare. This is how it should be (imho): you can’t open some doors to love and close others. Love and compassion naturally extend to all things: in this case, Grape Cat ticks quite a lot of boxes.

  • They only sell 100% cruelty-free and vegan clothing
  • They make an effort to be as eco-friendly as possible
  • The t-shirts they produce are made of organic cotton
  • They strive to carry brands committed to the planet well-being (for example Matt&Nat – they use recycled soda bottle for the interior of their bags)
  • They give back; a portion of their sales for May and June 2016 are going to the Indraloka Animal Sanctuary.  Indraloka is one of a few farm animal and all species sanctuaries with nearly 200 animals in their care.

The best part about online boutiques is that you can shop many different vegan brands at the same time, often with a pretty nice discount. Grape Cat carries brands of the like of: EcoSkin, Matt&Natt, Vaute Couture, Alchemy Goods, Vegan Police, Vegan Collection, Herbivore, Gunas, Lavishy, Malia Designs, Compassion Co., Pure Apparel, Quinoa Apparel. Make sure you check the SALE section to grab a bargain and stock up on vegan clothing.

100% Organic Cotton T-shirt: No fish goes anywhere without a porpoise

So here’s the reason why I decided to drop fast fashion altogether and pledged to buy from boutiques like Grape Cat: because I can. That’s all there is to it.
I decided that I could go without 5 new tops, 2 dresses and a pair of shoes every month.

I decided that I could reduce the clothes I bought in order to put my money where my ethics are.
I decided that I would support companies that embody the change I want to see in the world.

What about you? What is your way to help (even if you think it’s small. It’s never small, every little bit helps)? What are your favorite vegan online stores?

Psst… It’s a pinnable! Mouse over the image and click on the red button to pin it.
